the original casting rod of the 1970's, the rod that held every British Surfcasting distance record.11 1/2 ft. , 2 piece double handed rod.Fitted with a 42" cork butt.Rated as level 4 in the abu catalogue, 50-250g / 2 - 9 oz.Described by the then British Tournament Record Holder, Peter Bagnall of Morecambe, Lancashire, as "The finest production beach rod on the market today- any angler should cast at least 140yds with a little practice- it is an absolute joy to use". He should know, he rgulary casts over 200yds. complete with terminal tackle with this rod.Ok that was taken from the 1972 abu tight lines catalogue, but they obviously had faith in this rod and rightfully so.This example is in superb condition, the best i have ever owned, whippings are in excellent order, rings are nice and round, none squashed and the cork has no faults, it even has the rubber bung in the ferrule still.Its an excellent rod, one that i am reluctant to part with, but i know i will never use it as it is just too good.The photo's do not do it justice, i like to pride myself on my honest photography but i cant get this rod in the right light, but trust me its splendid... i will try and take some full length pictures later.
